AIR SERVICE FOR TIMARU
NEW LINK WITH UNION AIRWAYS
DAILY SCHEDULE WILL BE ESTABLISHED
[THE PRESS Special Service.! TIMARU, April 7. On the completion of the Timaru airport, with the necessary buildings, a full service, with north and south-bound aeroplanes calling daily, will be established by Union Airways, Ltd, The Post Office will also set up an air mail service when preparations are complete. These undertakings were given at a conference between the works committee of the Timaru Borough Council and Mr Morris Clarke, manager of Union Airways, this afternoon. Mr Clarke, accompanied by a technical adviser, made a trip from Wellington by air in a four-seater monoplane piloted by Mr Ernie Clark. Air line officials made an inspection bf the airport, after which they expressed the opinion that Timaru would possess one of the best landing grounds in the Dominion.
