REQUEST FROM SELWYN HUT OWNERS domain board willing to APPROACH GOVERNMENT A request from the Selwyn Hut Owners’ Association for a grant of £25 towards' the formation of a children’s playground was received by the Springston South Domain Board at its meeting yesterday. The. association stated that it had raised £2O for the purpose. It was decided to advise the association that at the end of the year the board would have no funds available for this purpose, but that it would be willing to approach the Government for some assistance if the association made a formal application. The chairman (Mr E. J. Harris) was asked to discuss with the Springs County Council a complaint that power, poles and lights on the Selwyn river front had been destroyed by some Irresponsible persons, with the object of having the matter investigated by the police. Authority was given for repairs to the fences round the tennis courts. Mr A. Mcßean was appointed to the finance committee, and- Messrs McBean, H. Hamilton, and M. J. Ryan were added to the grounds, committee.
