An art exhibition of water colour* embracing a wide range of interesting subjects will be shown to-day, to-mor-row, and on Saturday, in the lounge of the United Service HoteL Thearust is Mr Cranleigh Barton, a product ox the Slade School, London, and Jus themes are taken from England (particularly London), Athens, _ Istanbul, Benares, Jerusalem, Algiers, Singapore; and other places. There is also a New Zealand section. Mr Barton’s work reveals sound and accurate drawing in the architectural subjects, and atmosphere in pure landscapes. His treatment throughout is finished and refined, and his attention to form should be an object lesson to young Christchurch artists. The exhibition is well worth seeing.
