AUCKLAND PRODUCE MARKET
[THE PRESS Special Service.] AUCKLAND, April 5. The local grain and produce markets have been very steady since last report, the only quotable change in values being in respect of onions from Pukekohe, which are now quoted at 12s per cwt. Growers are not offering plentifully, preferring to store supplies for the winter market. Potatoes still come chiefly from the Manawatu district, but stock* in the city are not
heavy. Merchants have recently curtailed purchases in view of early deliveries from the South Island. The demand for horse feed is far from brisk. Fowl wheat sells freely at 7s Id a bushel. The next Australian shipment is due on April 14 and will be marketed at the same price as the last lot. Maize is unchanged. Growers are disappointed with the comparative; small orders they are receiving, but - this maT be largely attributed to the-long speu of hot weather. Barley is -bH cheapest cereal and sells freely at 4s 6d to 4s 9d a bushel for unchppeoPollard is unaltered and bran ts UOr changed at £6 15s a ton.
