WAIMAIRI BEACH CLUB A decision to start matches for men on Saturdays was made at the .recent annual meeting of the Walmairi Beach Golf Club. A special building fund for enlarging and improving the clubhouse was set up. Mr A. R. Blank, the president, reported that the staff had done excellent work in returfing the. tees, and in making general improvements to the fairways. One of the biggest.jobs was the removal of the high dunes, .along the eleventh fairway, and it would probably be a month before this part of .the course was reopened for play. HAGLEY LADIES’ CLUB The monthly bogey match of the Hagley Ladles’" Golf Club was won by Mrs J. E. Gudgeon in the first division, and in the second division Mrs F. B. Hale and Mrs S. C. Novell tied. Best scores were: First Grade—Mrs Gudgeon. 1 down; Miss M. Wake, 2 down; Mrs E. Pfankuch, 2 down;, Mrs A. D. Cordner, 4 down; Miss M. Saunders, 5 down; Mrs C. 'Buchanan, 7 down; Mrs A. C. Bretherton, 7 down; Mrs T. C. Wallace, 7 down.
Second Grade—Mrs Novell, 7 down; Mrs Hale. 7 down.
