Stubbersfield, presided over a moderate atSlubbers field was reappointed as one of the delegates to-the Hurunui Sub-Union and it was stated thal Mr M. G. MSckle will also represent Kaikoura in place of Mr Shannon, who has left the district. . . It was decided to enter junior and senior teams for the sub-union compedate of the annual meeting was fixed for April 22.

TRANSFUSION
ST. JOHN AMBULANCE AT
KAIAPOI
Eight members of the Kaiapoi Division of St. John Ambulance Association, who volunteered, for the national blood transfusion service, received their membership and group from Wellington at the fortnightly meeting of the Kaiapoi Division of the ° The Divisional Superintendent, Mr W. Green, read a report on the English blood transfusion service. The evening was spent in competition work Two teams competed, ana a high standard of efficiency was shown. Volunteers were called for public duty for the Motor-Cycle Grand Prix to be held at Cust on Easter Monday. The Division Superintendent reported that first aid classes were to be held at Cust, beginning on May 9, and members were urged to bring along new members. Free transport would be provided.
KAIKOURA BRANCH OF LABOUR PARTY
ANNUAL MEETING HELD
Mr D. Manson presided at the annual meeting of the Kaikoura branch of the New Zealand Labour Party, held in the Drill Hall. There was a very good attendance, and several new members were elected. . • The balance-sheet showed income as £7l 9s Id and expenditure as £64 13 As 3d ’a' mark of appreciation for services rendered Mr and Mrs Eaton and Mr G. Stove were presented with suitable gifts by the president, on behalf of the. members. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr D. Manson; vice-presi-dent, Mr F. ,J. Smith; secretary. Mr Austin Smith: executive, Messrs G. Taylor, W. Wilson, A. B. Clark, G. Eaton, and P. KeeKan.
FAREWELL TO LITTLE RIVER
HEAD TEACHER
A large number of children and residents assembled at the Little Rwer Main School to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs W. T. Church and family, who have left to live in the North Island. Mr": Church, who-has- been head teacher at the school for .the last four and a half years, . has'taken a great interest in tennis, football, and the Little River drama circle He was 1 'an active;member of the Banks j..enmsula" Teachers' Association. Mrs ■Church, .was ■ a .member of the Little River Tennis Club, the Women s Inthe drama circle. • • ' Mr and Mrs Church will take„.up , duty at ja native school near Rotorua. Mr W. H. Montgomery, for the children ahd residents of Little River, presented Mr and Mrs Church with a wallet of notes, Miss Jeanette Church with a doll, and Masters Peter . and Johm Church with a ping-pong set. Miss M.. Webster, president of -the Women’s Institute, presented, Mrs Church with a posy. Belle Pidgeon, for the Puaha School, handed ;Mr Church, a small gift- . Mr S. Le Compte, chairman of the school committee, and Master Colin McAuliffe also spoke.
