SOCIAL AT MARSHLAND

MISS V. BOYD HONOURED

The Marshland branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmer's’ Union arranged an evening social in honour of Miss Violet Boyd, whose marriage to Mr Sydney Harris will take place next week.

Cards, games, dancing, and competitions were enjoyed. The president (Mrs Marks) spoke of the high esteem in which Miss Boyd was held, and Mrs Quaid asked her to accept a gift with the good wishes of fellow members.

Mrs Waugh, president of the Marshland Plunket Committee, thanked Miss Boyd for the assistance she had given her committee, and presented her with a small gift. A competition was won by Miss V, Boyd and Mr S. Harris. Those present were Miss V. Boyd, Mr and Mrs D. Boyd, Mrs E. Harris, Mrs B. Harris, Mrs Hill, Mr and Mrs Goode, Mr and Mrs C.
