GAOL TERM INCREASED BY SIX MONTHS
(RRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.)
AUCKLAND, March 17. “This is always a serious offence and must be met by an additional term of imprisonment,” said his Honour Mr Justice Fair, dealing with Richard Jackson Ruff Moyle, a labourer, aged 28, who pleaded guilty in the Supreme Court to a charge of escaping from lawful custody, and also to breaking and entering a counting-house, and theft. , . Moyle escaped from the Borstal institution at Waikeria on February 20 and six days later gave himself up to the police at Wellington. On a charge of escaping from custody, Moyle was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment, to be cumulative with the sentence he is now serving. On the second charge the sentence was six months’ imprisonment, to be concurrent with the other sentences.
