o AUSTRALIAN MINISTERS CONSULTED CANBERRA, March 7. The Prime Minister (Mr J. A. Lyons) has issued a statement to the effect that the Commonwealth Government was told before Mr Edln signed that Britain propped to* open negotiatons immerfiatelv for an agreement with ltaiy. The Australian Ministers did not know at that stage that there was anv difference in the points of view of Mr Chamberlain and Mr Eden Australia was being consulted about Uie negotiations with Italy and was being given every, opportunity of expressing an opinion on aspects affrcting Australian interests.
