GLENTUNNEL SHOW

«, HIGH QUALITY OF EXHIBITS HOME GARDEN COMPETITION TO BE HELD The South Malvern Horticultural Society held its annual show in the Town Hall, Glentunnel, on Saturday. The entries, totalling 540, were about the average of recent years, but the quality of the exhibits was very good, those in the cut flower, fruit, and vegetable sections being outstanding. There was a good attendance at both the afternoon and the evening sessions of the show. Before the special prizes were presented by Mrs Jas. Deans, the president of the society, Mr C. Green, announced that the society was inaugurating a home garden competition, open to all gardens within a six-mile radius of Glentunnel, and that Messrs R. and G. King had offered a trophy for a competition open to an schools in the Malvern district. The following were the judges:—-uuc flowers, Mr R. G. Robinson; decorative, Mrs R. S. Gunn and Mr R. G. Robinson; fruit and vegetables. Mr W. J. Jenkins; home industries, Miss J. Redfern; home crafts, Mrs George Derrett; photography, Mr G. C. Warren.
