THREE FUNCTIONS ARRANGER BY MAYOR Three civic welcomes are to be given by the Mayor (Mr J. W. Beanland) during the next fortnight to prominent visitors to Ghristchurch. The first will be next Friday, at noon, to athletes taking part in the New Zealand athletic championships at Lancaster Park. On Friday, March 18, members of the party of English public school boys, who are to tour the Dominion, will be welcomed to the city, the function being arranged for noon; and on Mareh 22 the Mayor will weleome Sir Stenson Cooke, general secretary of the Automobile Association of Great Britain. This welcome will be held at 11 a.m.
