I HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMING ' '■ SPORTS A swimming carnival, organised by the Murchison Swimming Club and the District High School staff, was held in the school baths recently. The following are the results:— Boys (seven and eight years): Stan Norris 1, Bill Hagen 2. Girls (seven and eight years): Mavis Jagger 1, Miriam McCaa 2. Boys (nine years): Ken. At the conclusion of the carnival the head teacher, Mr R. W. Moir, tendered his appreciation- to the swimming club for valuable assistance, and their donation of prizes, and paid special tribute to the donors of the championship medal and cup, Messrs K. J. Holyoake, M.P., and W. Tall, of Murchison. The president of the club, Mr T. Gilooly, acknowledged the thanks.
