ACCIDENTS

WATEKSIDER INJURED Struck by a crate of glass when loading cargo from the Port Alma into a railway truck at Lyttelton yesterday, Mr J. Cowie, a watersidcr, was injured in the back. The crate pinned him against the truck. He was taken to the Lyttelton Casualty Ward, and after being examined by Dr. B. H. GUmour was sent to the Christchurch Public Hospital. He afterwards returned to his home at Lyttelton. WORKMAN STRUCK ON HEAD BY .HOISTINC.V HLOCK Injuries to the head were suffered by Mr L. L. Bamford. of 102 Harper street. Sydenham, when he was struck by a hoisting block which fell from a roof at Lyttelton yesterday. Mr Bamford was employed at Lyttelton by W W. Toy and Company. He was taken to the Lyttelton Casualty Ward, where two stitches were inserted in the wound, after which he was able to go home.
