JOINERS ON EXHIBITION BUILDINGS

LONDON, March 1

Recalling the strikes which delayed the completion of the Paris Exhibition, more than 1000 joiners at the Empire Exhibition at Glasgow struck for an increase of 5d an hour to a total of 2s, with an additional Id an hour as "dirt money" for those working outside the buildings in rain and mud. As the joiners are the key men, the opening of. the exhibition may be delayed.
