LABOUR PEER RESIGNS
DISAGREES WITH PARTY’S FOREIGN POLICY ANOTHER EXPECTED TO FOLLOW (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.) (Received March 1, 7.5 p.m.) LONDON, February 28. Lord Arnold has resigned from the Labour Party. In a statement he said that he profoundly disagreed with the Labour foreign policy. It is expected that Lord Ponsonby will also resign from the party. Lord Arnold joined the Labour Party in 1922, having previously been a Liberal member of the House of Commons. He was Undersecretary for the Colonies during 1924, in the first Labour Government: and Paymaster-General in the second Labour Government in 1929 and 1931. Lord Ponsonby, also at one time a Liberal, was Leader of the Opposition in the House of Lords from 1931 to 1935.
