POINTS FROM OTHER LETTERS

“5.0.5.” thanks “Magneto” and “Commentator” for replies to his letter about electric motors and generators, “Truth” describes as “ridiculous” the statement of a correspondent writing about “Labour and Communism” that the principle aim of Communism is anti-God. He quotes a statement by Mr W. H. Kerridge, who visited Russia in 1935, in which he said: “Many churches were open and many closed, but those that were open were packed to the doors. Students had no actual anti-religious instruction, but attended lectures on comparative religion. They were not forbidden to go to church, but were left to make their own decisions.” The writer also quotes the “Methodist Times” of October 23, 1937, giving the numbers of religious organisations, religious leaders, followers of religion, and believers.
