MANSLAUGHTER OF NEWLY-BORN CHILD
YOUNG WOMAN SENTENCED (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) NEW PLYMOUTH, February 23. Stella Elizabeth Sedgman, an unmarried woman, aged 21, was found guilty of the manslaughter of a newlyborn male child at Ngaere on December 11, with a strong recommendation to mercy. This morning she was ordered to come up for sentence if called on within 12 months, by the Chief Justice (the Rt. Hon. Sir Michael Myers).
