DRAINAGE RULES
—♦ REVISION SOUGHT PLUMBERS CONFER AT TIMARU TIMARU, February 4. The need of revised and modern regulations for drainage and plumbing was discussed at the annual conference of the New Zealand Master Plumbers’ Federation, which ended at Timaru to-day. The conference decided to ask the Health Department and the Standards Institute to draw up a revised and modern set of regulations with national application. It was resolved to advocate the revision of the orders for apprenticeship in the plumbing trade and to favour standardisation throughout New Zealand.
It was agreed to hold the next annual meeting in Auckland, subject to the approval of the Auckland Association.
The election of officers resulted:— President, Mr R. J. Bell (Wanganui); vice-presidents, Messrs R. G. Speirs (Invercargill) and R. Wainwright (Wellington); executive, Messrs F. L. Horne, T. G. Killick, A. J. Jamieson, C. B. Healey, C. W. Oborn, and E. S. Walton (all of Christchurch); secretary, Mr D. I. Macdonald (Christchurch).
