Mr D. I. Macdonald, secretary to the Canterbury Employers’ Association, returned from the south last evening.
Mr E. J. Howard, M.P., left by the steamer express for Wellington last evening. Mr W. R. Carey, manager of the Kaiapoi Woollen Manufacturing Company, returned from the north yesterday. Mr C. F. Schadick (Westport) arrived from Wellington yesterday.
Mr Colin Clark, a statistician and economist of Cambridge University, arrived in Christchurch last evening, and will remain in the city till Monday.
Mr H. C. Urlwin, principal of H. C. Urlwin, Ltd., left for the north last evening by the steamer express. He will leave by the Monterey from Auckland on a business trip to the United States. Mr Urlwin will be in America for about four months.
