An Awkward Mistake A young man was seen recently in a city restaurant standing idly near a standard hat and coat rack smoking a cigarette, waiting for a friend who had stopped for a word with another acquaintance. An elderly lady dressed in rather voluminous clothes rose from her table and as she went out brushed against the young man. Her astonishment can be imagined when he suddenly turned and clasped her round the waist with the appearance of considerable surprise and alarm. He had to explain with as much sincerity and presence of mind as he could command that he thought the rack had fallen on top of him.
