ESS ASSOCIATION lILEGBAJi.' WANGANUI, January 25Cedric George Finn, a commercial traveller, of Palmerston Norm, was fined £2O by Mr J. H. Salmon, SJI. for being in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor-car. Finn raised the defence that as he was unwell a friend drove the car to Wanganui from Palmerston North and back to a point where he was hailed by a traffic inspector. When defendants car stopped he suddenly discovered that his friend did not have a drivers licence. He hurriedly exchanged seats and was at the wheel when the inspector walked back to his car.
