GREYMOUTH, January 25.
New Zealand's metropolitan press was specially mentioned by the member of Parliament for Rotorua, Mr A. L. Moncur, when he addressed a large gathering of Labour supporters at Runanga last evening. "The metropolitan press is unjust in its treatment of the Labour Party," he said. He quoted examples of what he alleged to be the "unfair attitude adopted by the city newspapers in reporting political meetings." It was evident, he said, that the large city newspapers were preparing on "a big scale" to fight Labour at the next election, but Labour had friends on the city newspaper stalls who were keeping Labour informed." , A ~. "The menace of the metropolitan press will be combated by a greater use of radio," he concluded.
