FLIGHT OVER SOUTH ATLANTIC
♦ ATTEMPT BY THREE ITALIAN MACHINES
DAKAR, January 24
Lieutenant Bruno Mussolini and two other Italian aviators, who left Guidonia at 6.45 p.m. on a moonlight South Atlantic flight, have arrived at Dakar.
Three Iriple-engined high-speed bombers of the Savoia Marchetti type are participating in the flight. The leader is Colonel Biseo, holder of many records and private pilot to II Duce. The other machines are piloted by Lieutenant Bruno Mussolini and Captain Moscatelh. The route is across the Sahara and the South Atlantic to Brazil. It was intended to make only one stop, at The machines, which departed in close triangular fighting formation, won the first three places in the recent Istres-Damascus-Paris air race, and they have participated in bombing raids on Barcelona and other cities from the base at Palma. Majorca.
