his own design, has proved thr/. Beowulf's funeral pyre was bu:l: beside the sea. He found the word "hoe," meaning a promontory, suc:\ as in Plymouth Hoe. Dr. Smith is convinced that so much is revealed that it will necessitate new transcriptions of ah the ancient texts from King Alfred'..translation of Beothius to the "Canterbury Tales."
