BURNS CLUBS’ POOR RESPONSE
RESTORATION OF MAUSOLEUM AT DUMFRIES LONDON, January 23. A fjoor response of only £570 from Burns Clubs throughout the world towards the restoration of the Burns mausoleum at Dumfries, at a cost of £2500, has compelled the Dumfries Burns Club to pawn its priceless 1786 Kilmarnock edition of Burns’s work. Club officials say that Scotsmen throughout the world will reflect on the shame of their plight.
