MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT

The students of Miss Betty Hannam gave a very successful entertainment to a large audience in Begg’s music hall on Saturday night. The work of the students was given high praise for its outstanding merit. Those taking part were Misses Adeline Hunter and Alison Gough, who played a pianoforte duo by Somervlll; Miss Dorothy Talbot, who played “Interlude,” by Chaminade: a bracketed number, “Etude” (Poldini) and “Vogel als Prophet” (Schumann), was played by Miss Colleen Peoples; York Bowen’s “Romp” by Miss Dorothy Biggs; Debussy's “La Cathedrale Engloutic” by Miss Kathleen McMillan; and Mrs J. Milligan gave a few explanatory words before playing "Prelude” (Delius) and “Mintrels” (Debussy). Miss Waveney Davis. dauSMer of Mr and Mrs O’Donel Davis, played the first movement of Schumann’s “Concerto” in A minor, “Intermezzo” in A major, and “Ballade” in G minor by Brahms, and a suite—prelude, minuet, and reel —by Pitfield. After Miss Davis’s performance supper was served.
