CHRISTCHURCH SATURDAY’S QUOTATIONS Markets were dull on call on Saturday morning. Bidding for most stocks was spiritless and the recorded turnover was small. Unsupported sellers of New Zealand Breweries reduced their limits to 46s 6d. British Tobacco recovered to 49s 9d, buyers staying in at that price, sellers at 49s lOd. Broken Hill Proprietary remained unaltered at 63s 9d, market closing 2d either way. Dunlop Rubber -were firm with sellers and business at 22s 6d. G. J. Coles were easier with sellers and dealings at 85s, buyers at 84s 9d. Taranaki Oilfields moved up to 7s 6d and more were offered at that price, buyers at 7s sd. / Mining Nemona, cum dividend, had business at Is 7d. Mount Lyells, cum dividend, were fractionally weaker at 32s 4d and 32s sd. and these were buyers’ and sellers’ closing quotations respectively. Mount Morgans dropped to 11s 4d, the market closing Id either way. North Broken Hill were easier with sellers at 52s fid, buyers at 51s fid. LATEST QUOTATIONS
