INQUEST OPENED
Evidence of identification was taken yesterday afternoon, when an inquest into the circumstances of the death of John Devine, aged 54 years, was opened before Mr E. C. Levvey, Coroner. at the Christchurch Public Hospital. Devine, who was identified by his son-in-law, Walter Lamb, of Lyttelton, died on his way to the hospital on Tuesday afternoon.
