A BOX SEAT
(By Penelope Pocock) To make a window-seat which can be used as a shoe-cupboard, lake three petrol cases and arrange them in this way:—
The open sides of the boxes must all face the same way. Paper the inside with wall-paper and then measure the boxes. Buy some cretonne or suitable covering material, allowing enough for curtains for the front of A, B, and C. Next pad the top of A, B, and C, Tack the covering material on. The
box or seat will look more complete i£ a piece o£ three-ply wood is nailed on the back, padded and covered. Shelves can be built as necessary. It is a good idea to put castors on if the box is to be moved about. The finished article should - look something like this:—•
