Another Win The five-year-old Chief Ruler —Lady Pym gelding First Consul, who is owned by Mr J. P. O'Hara, and who was a winner earlier in the season, was again successful at the West Australian Turf Club meeting at Perth a fortnight ago, in the Grove Handicap six furlongs, a race he also won last year. On both occasions he was at an outside price. He was bred at The Curragh Stud, Waikanac. Still Out of Action Cardsharper is still showing signs of soreness and H. Gray entertains littl hope that the Paper Money hack will be able to race at Christmas. It is possible that he may be gelded and turned out for a spell. Small Team .. . „, L* G Morris will take a small team to Auckland, The Buzzer and Omtory being two certain to go., B. H. morns will ride Oratory, who ran second in the Railway Handicap last year, and it is probable that H. Wiggins will ride the Buzzer.
At Manawalu - Catalogue is not going.toi Auckland, but Mrs McDonald will take The Cwooner and Sudan north. Mr E. L. Barnes, owner of Catalogue, has been seriously ill at Christchurch since the New Zealand Cup meeting, but is now recovering, and Catalogue may lacc at the Manawatu meeting.
Riding at Ellerslie Though W. : Broughton has not a mount so far In the Auckland Cup, he will be on hand to ride Royal Bachelor in the Railway Handicap. P. Atkins will also be at Auckland, and in addition to the members o£ the team of F. Davis, he will ride for the stable of L. Wilson when the weights suit.
