EXPANSION OF AIR FORCE

* APPLICATIONS INVITED The expansion of the air wing of the Dominion’s defence forces is illustrated by the publication of a notice calling for applications from young men for enlistment to the ground staff of the Royal New Zealand Air Force and for appointment to short-service commissions. Successful applicants for commissions will be trained either at the Flying Training School at Wigram or in England, and will serve in the Royal Air Force or the Royal New Zealand Air Force for four or five years on the active list and five or six years on the reserve list. The personnel being enlisted as ground staff will serve in various aircraft trades, as blacksmiths, fitters, wireless operators, storekeepers, clerks, and unskilled men.
