TTie weather forecast for Canterbury end Marlborough, issued at 5 p.xn. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, »nd dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: — Moderate to strong northerly to \ north-westerly wind, later backing to south-westerly. Weather ftiir at first but becoming unsettled, and rain sbowers developing with the southerly change. Temperatures becoming cooler. Seas slight to moderate, but later increasing. The following is the forecast for the West Coast of the South Island;— WEST COAST Moderate to strong north-west-erly winds, backing later to south-westerly. Weather unsettled, with rain developing, and some heavy falls probable. Temperatures becoming cooler. Seas mther rough to rough. DOMINION : The following is the Dominion forecast:— i. Weather cloudy to overcast. \, with rain developing in western area* from New Plymouth southwards, and in Otago and Southland. Elsewhere fair to cloudy at first, but unsettled conditions later becoming more general over the . South Island. Temperatures mild, ' ibiit becoming cooler in the south. Eastern Tasman Sea—North-westerly winds, moderate to fresh in the northern area; fresh to strong and shortly hacking to south-westerly in the southern portion.
