PARACHUTIST LANDS ON ISLAND
CARRIED FROM AERODROME BY WIND (FBXSS ASSOCIATION TXLXQBAU.) , AUCKLAND, November 8. A parachute descent from a height of one mile, which ended in an unexpected landing on a small island in Manukau estuary, created considerable excitement for a large crowd at the Mangere aerodrome yesterday afternoon. / ..., , * Mr G. W. Sellars was responsible for Several thrills in the staging of his escent, but natural forces played the final part and provided an exciting 1 climax to the event. After his jump from the machine, it became evident that a sudden change in the strength and direction of the wind would present the parachutist from making the landing on the aerodrome. Mr Sellars eventually landed in the scrub on fiTairoa Island. ■
