H.M.S. LEANDER’S SOUVENIR

A souvenir of which the ship’s company of H.M.S. Leander is very proud is the broken propeller boss of the radio-controlled target aeroplane Queen Bee, states the “Taranaki Herald.” It is a tribute to the accuracy of the anti-aircraft guns' crews as the aeroplane was brought down by gun-

fire at Portland when the Leander was with the Horae Fleet. The vessel was doing duty at Queen Bee catapult ship at the time, and the only two aircraft brought down were victims of the Rodney and the Leander. A clock has been fitted into the centre of the boss, and it now occupies a pxommetp, place in the wardroom, a small engraved plate proclaiming June, 1937, aa the date of the shooting.
