Dear Lady Gay,— Last Saturday morning I went un one of our paddocks and grubbed all the young thistles out to help daddy, and give him a surprise.
When I got home, there was a big surprise for me. A lady in town had written me a letter about my brown sponge pudding, the recipe which was printed in “The Gay Gazette.” This is what she said: Dear Arthur,—
We have tried your recipe, brown spong pudding. It was a great success and so easy to make. There was none left after we had finished our meal. It is going in our recipe book as “Arthur Top Pudding.” Cheerio from a reader of “The Press.”
(So you see how useful our recipe books will be.—L.G.)
At Inchbonnie there is a small aerodrome where the aeroplanes can, in case of emergency, land on the way to Greymouth. —’MATE GLEAMING RATA, Otira.
