RABBIT - TRAPS FOR CATS
TO THE EDITOR OK THB PBEBS. Sir, —I desire to draw the attention of your readers to the diabolical practice of setting traps for cats. Two cats of mine have been trapped, one within a few days of the other, and I assure you it is not a pleasant sight to see one’s pet cat, having managed to free itself, return home with both jaws broken and its tongue cut almost in two, resulting in its having to be destroyed. This case has been reported to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and I trust that any other cases will also be reported. Can anything bo more terrible than to see a dumb animal in such agony, and is there any crime worthy of more censure then this despicable torture of creatures not able to defend themselves? I write this letter of protest in-the hope that it may in some measure influence the perpetrators of this deliberate cruelty, and that some - other readers may take up this matter on behalf of our dumb friends. —Yours, etc.i A LOVER OF ANIMALS. November 5, 1937.
