ONE-ACT PLAYS

REPERTORY SOCIETY’S PRODUCTION

The presentation of short plays is a very popular form of entertainment in Christchurch, and the Canterbury Repertory Theatre Society is always sure of strong support when it presents its regular programme of oneact plays. Jellicoe Hall was well filled last night when the company staged three new and interesting works produced by members of the society. The first, a serious play, was acted by Misses Doris Edwards, Rae Cuff, Kathleen Heenan, Valerie Campbell, Irene Lyttle, Phyllis Hoffmann, and Gwenda Townsend; and Miss Frona King was producer. The second, produced by Mr Nordon Barker, caused great hilarity. The cast included Misses Grace Fuller, Phyllis Brass, Barbara Cowie, Messrs Selwyn Davies and Alex Gale.

Mr Barker, Miss King, and Mr Eric Cordery presented the last play on the programme, and Miss Phyllis Brass was producer.
