The tusk of a mammoth and the shoulder of a pre-historic rhinoceros have been found on the municipal rubbish head at Camburg on the Saale, near Halle, Germany. Two years ago the skull of a pre-historic ibex was found in a gravel pit in the same district. It proved to be the only trace available of this type of animal and was named Capra Camburgensis by the investigating scientists.
