IMPERIAL AIRWAYS DISMISSAL
INQUIRY SOUGHT IN HOUSE OF COMMONS LONDON, October 28.. In the House pf Commons, Mr W. R. D. Perkins (Conservative) asked the Under-Secretary for Air (Sir Philip Sassoon) to hold an impartial inquiry into the dismissal by Imperial Airways of the pilot, Captain V. Gorry Wilson, after the City of Khartoum had crashed in Alexandria harbour on January 1, 1936. Other members asked whether the recent dismissal of 10 pilots by Imperial Airways was because they were members of the pilots' organisation. Lieutenant-Colonel A. J. Muirhead denied that the Government had any responsibility in the dismissals. It was a matter within the commercial competence of the company.
