THRIFT CLUBS FOR WORKERS

REGULATIONS PUBLISHED IN GAZETTE (PHES3 ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, October 22. Regulations providing for the establishment of thrift clubs in conjunction ■with the Post Office Savings BanVc are notified in the Gazette. The purpose of the regulations is to enable workers in shops and factories to save small amounts out of their regular wages, and, through trustees, to bank them to accumulate for an agreed period. Under the new scheme, firms or trustees of clubs are relieved of the work and responsibility of keeping accounts, which will be handled with greater ease by the machine system used in the Post Office.
