AUSTRALIAN LEAGUE FOOTBALLERS

-.—« DRAW WITH WIDNES (DKI'I'ED FEBSS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.) LONDON, October 21. The weather was fine but dull for the Australian League team's match with Widnes. Both sides showed bad handling. Weak tackling by Australia let Widnes open the score and maintain the lead, the score at half-time being 11-3 in favour of Widnes. There was little life in the Australians' play They were consistently losing the ball. When attacking from a penalty, MacLennan forced his way across and brought the score to 11-8, but Widnes again pressed hard and a goal brought the score to 13-8. In the last few minutes Dawson secured the ball on his own line, made a marvellous run, kicked, and took the ball on the bounce, and outpaced his opponents and scored between the posts. Beaton goaled, making the final score 13-13.
