EXTORTION CHARGE BROUGHT
MAGISTRATE MENTIONS BLACKMAIL REMAND TO NOVEMBER 1 GRANTED A charge of attempted extortion was brought by the police against Joseph Dyer in the Magistrate's Court yester- ■ day morning. It was alleged that during November, 1933, and on divers 1 dates between that month and August 6 1937 with intent to extort money Dyer accused a man of a crime punishable with five or more years' imprisonment—indecent assault on a ""Detective-Sergeant T. A. Holmes, who conducted the case for the police, applied for a remand until Monday, N ?S b kmaii, is it?" asked the Magistrate, Mr E. C. Levvey, S.M., who Pr Mr d J d A.
