. o IMTED STATES EFFORT FOR j SETTLEMENT WASHINGTON. October 21. The United States has joined Venezuela and Costa Rica in an effort to settle the threatened war between Nicaragua and Honduras. The movement of troops towards the disputed territory has prompted this action. iA postage stamp issued early last month by Nicaragua was alleged to Include in an engraving a section of Honduras territory. A protest from Honduras received the retort that "It portrays the official fti&P of Nicaragua." Indignation meetings, demanding war, were acid throughout Honduras.].
