Mr C. Foster Browne, headmaster of the Cathedral Grammar School, returned from the north yesterday. A motion of condolence with the relatives of Mr James Leslie, who died recently, was carried at a meeting last night of the Heathcote County Council. Mr R. G. Shepheard has left for the North Island on a business visit. Dr. A. D. A. de Kat Angolino, who retired from the position of chief of the Departments of Public Health and Education in the Dutch East Indies about three months ago, is visiting Christchurch. He will probably spend another month in the Dominion, after which he will go to Australia, and later to Holland,
