OBITUARY

MR J. SHELLEY The death occurred this week, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs J. J. Harnett, Kincaid road, Kaikoura, after a short illness, of Mr Jeremiah Shelley, in his eighty-sixth year. Mr Shelley ]>ad been a resident of Kaikoura fur nearly 10 years. He was born in Queen's County, Ireland, in 18fl, coming to New Zealand 63 years ago and joining the railway staff in North Canterbury, where he resided for 25 yean. He was transferred to Christchurch in 1911 where he remained until his retirement. After the death of bis about four years ago he went to live with his daughter, Mrs J. J. Harnett He is survived by five sans, Messa-v Jeremiah Shelley (Christchurch> # | Richard and Joseph Shelley (Astabuti ? ton). Jack Shelley (Waiau), and James Shelley (Hawarden), and four dauglje. ters, the Rev. Mother Andrew (SiStOf.; of the Mission, Kaikoura), Mrs J. J. f Harnett and Mrs M. J. Harnett (Kaikoura), and Mrs P. D. O'Canneß (Hokitika). Many relatives and friends attended the funeral, which took place at Kaikoura.
