PERSONAL At the Lyttelton Post Office yesterday, a presentation was made to Mr W. M. Patterson, who has been senior telegraph operator for the last llyears, and who has been transferred to Hawarden as postmaster. The presentation took the form of an engraved fountain-pen, and was made by the postmaster, Mr J. Heeney. Mr W. J. Penlington, of Akaroa, will succeed Mr Patterson at Lyttelton. Oorse Fire The Lyttelton Volunteer Fire Brigade was called out at 4.15 p.m. yesterday to a gorse fire in Cressy terrace. The outbreak was extinguished and no damage was aonc.
