Information has been received bv the head offices of overseas shipping companies in Wellington that the increased fares announced in the London cablegram are operative by all :hips leaving the United Kingdom outward bound, and Australia and N°w Zoalsnd. Homeward bound, on and after October 1. Passenqes who hav n their reservations before S-p'-m-Vrr 11 will be allowed until Octobr 11 to complete their bookings by the "ayment of a deposit at the old rat-* All new bookings after September 10 for sailings on or after October 1 will be at the new rates, which have been increased by an average of 10 per cent The same arrangements apply to pas-' fl K r S . shl Ps.trading between Australia and/ or New Zealand and the Pacific coast of North America
