BANKS PENINSULA POWER BOARD
A meeting of the Banks Peninsula Electric Power Board was held at Little River, when there wefe present: Messrs C. E. Kay (chairman), AM. Helps, J. V. Chapman, B. O. Bradley, J. O. Coop, F. R. Davis, and W. A. Newton. The Akaroa Borough Council wrote agreeing to accept the recommendations of the Treasury Department about the annual interest and sinking fund payments on the electric light loan of £6600. The engineer was authorised to purchase onf ton of coppferwire. six distribution transformers, and f»* P 1 * naymemt meters. A debenture of iffiVas completed by the board Board It was resolved to write to the Electric Power Boards* Association for further information about the basis upon which the annual membership fee was charged. , ~ The financial statement showed the nnsition of the board's accounts to be. Loan account, credit £149, and general account, credit £2875. Accounts totalling £1584 were passed for payment. lm !jJtric supply charges for the quarter totalled £3079, an increase of £ll>9 on the corresponding quarter last year The cost of power to the board had hicreaspd by £2Ol. Nine hire-pur-chase"agreements had been! completed The engineer reported that the extension to the Kaik would be completed during the coming month Several extra men had been engaged on th?s line and it had also been necesSry to secure an additionall wireman. The load connected during the month totalled 101 kilowatts.
