The weather forecast for Canterbury and Marlborough, issued at 5 p,m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours fallowing the time of issue, is as lows:Variable winds, with west to north-west predominating:, light to moderate mainly, but freshening at times, especially inland. Weather fair to fine, and becoming milder. " Seas slight to moderate. ' WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Moderate to strong west to north-westerly winds. Weather «hangeable, with rain at times. I geas rather rough to rough. l : DOMINION The Dominion forecast is:— Weather fair to fine in eastern areas; changeable and with occasional showers in districts with a westerly aspect, especially from Tarsnakl southwards, and also in the southern portion of the South Island. Temperatures cool, but becoming milder shortly, particularly In eastern districts. The recent disturbance has passed away eastwards, and an anti-cyclone is advancing across the North Tasman Sea. A series of westerly depressions extends, however, across the Sooth Tasman, and a westerly type of weather is therefore indicated. Winds—Moderate to strong southwesterly to westerly, decreasing temporarily, but north-westerlies setting in again shortly about and south of Cook Strait, and freshening. Seas (New Zealand waters)— Rough en the West Coast and in Foveaux 'Strait, moderate in coastal waters on the east coast, but rather rough off ignore.
