CAN YOU DIVE?
If Not, Try This 'Mate's jjf Method
I have been able to swim lor about four or five seasons now, but it was only last season I to dive. It happened this way: I thought I would never be able to dive; I tried, but I went as flat as a pancake. One day a friend at
school, whose diving I had Just been admiring, said, "I'll teach you." She told me to kneel down by the edge of the baths and put my hands above my head, fingers touching, and bend from the waist with head well down between my arms.
When I was ready she gave ma a gentle push, and before I knew where I was I had gone down into the water and up again. After I had done this a few times I tell braver, so stood up. Now, althougtt I am not an expert diver. I can at least get into the water head first —'MATE HARUM SCARUM, L.8.H., Rosfc
